Be part of the growing number of people now rowing on the Thames!
AHOY through its Boat Building and Apprenticeship programme build two types of rowing cutters – The AHOY Cutter and The Waterman Cutter.
These are designed on the traditional passenger rowing ferries which were used on the River Thames from the 18th Century. They are fast, light and strong and with their sleek lines and streamlined hulls are now essentially used for taking part in various rowing challenges and events. However, they are comfortable for training, casual rowing and Traditional Boat Regattas.
Their ease of handling and stability make them suitable for safe use by rowing enthusiasts of all abilities and experience.
They are 'the' rowing boats to own and compete in, with a thriving racing community participating in all the Traditional Boat regattas. A large number are owned by City Livery Companies and increasingly corporate teams are investing in this unique way to strengthen and develop their company teams.

The Cutters are built by our Shipwright with the assistance of the AHOY apprentices. The build is to a high quality using composite strengthened GRP for the hull and finished in Iroko wood. Come and view our workshop and see the quality of the finish.
Through the purchase of these Cutters by Companies & individuals this helps to fund the AHOY Apprenticeship programme, supporting young people gaining vital work skills and qualifications.
For the Owners they get to enjoy all that the Thames has to offer both in terms of the rowing events and the great places to visit – If you have not rowed the Thames then put it on your list of ‘must do’s’ - you will not be disappointed on what it has to offer with the changing scenery as you progress towards to Oxford.
The AHOY offers the ‘Cutter Partnership’ which most Owners chose to take up, with AHOY looking after the boat, the Owners get to use the craft when they want and AHOY can use the boats when not in use. A rare combination of ‘win win’ for everyone.
The AHOY Cutter with six oars £14,800
