The Channel Row Challenge

Is a unique yet unforgettable opportunity - to take on rowing 23 miles on the English Channel.

Yes it is ‘testing’ - Yes you will get fit - Yes you will achieve something that very few have succeeded in doing.

You do not have to have rowed before. We design a training package around your commitments and provide all the equipment you will need.

The money raised by each team provides vital funding to enable us to continue our work with disadvantaged young people and disabled people.  Without this funding we would not be able to continue our Charity’s work.

It is also a great opportunity to  work as a team and involve colleagues, friends or family. At the same time why not throw down the gauntlet and challenge others?

If you would like to have your own themed /branded Challenge we can organise this for you  - If you can put together a minimum of 4 teams (maximum 6). These are excellent Team Building Events.

Fitness & ability

You need no rowing experience - The AHOY Centre’s qualified rowing instructors  will assess your fitness before you embark on the training programme. All you need is enthusiasm and determination.

The training programme

All teams need to complete an induction session where a training programme will be put together for your team.  This will include on water and time within our dry rowing gym to improve fitness and technique. The cost of the training and supporting the team is covered by AHOY.
