RYA YOUTH STAGE 1- START SAILING Course

What is RYA Stage 1 Start Sailing?

During this course you will learn the basics of sailing, parts of the boat and how to launch, recover, and steer. After completing Stage 1, you will understand the basic principles of sailing in order to move on to Stage 2. No prior knowledge or experience of sailing is needed to take up this course.

Who Can do it?

Anyone Aged between 10 and 16 years old. No prior experience needed.

Please bring the following:

Weather-appropriate clothing wetsuits, hats and gloves when cold.
Footwear you don’t mind getting wet.
Packed lunch and a water bottle. (There are shops near the centre.)

We will supply the following:

Waterproof Jackets and Salopettes
Lifejackets / Bounce aid
RYA log books / Certificate

Approximately 16 hours over two full days. Starting 09:30 and finishing around 16:30
